I don't have much help - but you might be interested to know that my husband's father and siblings were in an orphanage in the area during the 1920's and we are sesperately trying to find information about their parents.
The orphaned children were George, Isabel and Robert Blair who were later (separately) shipped off to Ontario, Canada, to farm homes.
WE believe Robert (Bob) was the youngest and probably born about 1908. WE believe the family lived in Gourock prior to the orphanage.
