Though I have never worn western boots, I do know a lot of people that own them. They aren’t really country singers by any means, though one of them is a singer. They aren’t cowboys either, but for some reason they really love the look of them. Though I’m not big on country attire, I have to admit they do look good with jeans for certain occasions, and they most definitely have their practical uses.

Western boots don’t look that good if you have your jeans tucked into them. If you do this, please stop! Unless you need to keep your jeans tucked to keep them out of the mud momentarily, you aren’t doing yourself any fashion favors. Western boots most definitely should not be that showcase of your outfit, but rather a nice touch to finish off your look. You should see no more than the bottom few inches of them when you are wearing them. This applies even if you are wearing them on stage for a performance. Nothing looks sillier than any type of pants tucked into boots.

My stepfather was a truck driver for a long time. He wore western boots because they gave him a slightly dressy look, but they were durable and practical for driving his truck over long distances. He often got one new pair a year, and he took really good care of them. His western boots were something that my mom picked out for him each year, and gave to him as part of his Christmas gift. She had a gift for this, as she always seemed to pick out just the right pair and he always loved the ones she got for him.

You don’t have to pay a fortune to get western boots, but if you want something comfortable and durable, you might want to spend a little more. Cheap western boots might be ok for an occasional night out on the town, but if you want something to wear all the time, they aren’t going to feel good on your feet. Take the time to find some that are well made, and made from quality materials for the best fit and durability. If you have a hard time finding ones that you like in your local stores, don’t forget to look online. You can probably find a bigger variety of them on the Internet, and shipping is usually fast.
