It's a good bet that “Jimmy's Homemade Chocolates” would come in last in click throughs, only because his name, in a field of two small business names, gives the impression of a one man operation with a name lacking in imagination. In the case of chocolates, small business names should ideally, make the prospective customer's mouth water. You can't make a sale unless you get the buyer to your site.

When contemplating small business names best suited to your business, it's a good idea to make an ongoing list of possibilities as the names occur to you.

Pass your compiled list of possible small business names by family and friends to get their input. You may find it interesting and enlightening to hear their opinions and comments. You may find that women and men differ on what they find appealing. If your target market consists mostly of women, you may want to give more weight to their responses.
